Two blogs about a whole lot of nothing

Poynton Regenerated

Despite having probably the most boring blog post title ever, this video is anything but. I love this kind of city design, the kind that goes against logic, history and even common sense, to some respect.

It tells the story of Poynton, a town near Manchester, than decided to replace a dangerous and busy crossroads with what is essentially nothing. If you've ever driven through crossroads where the traffic lights don't work, you'll empathsise with this. Worth 15 minutes of your time.

Darkened Cities

Ever wondered what night skies would look like without all that artificial light we create? Photographer Thierry Cohen gives us an idea by photographing cities, removing all traces of light, then dropping in incredible photos of night skies, albeit from deserted places such as Mojave Desert and the Amazon. They might not be true to life, but they're beautiful photos nonetheless.
