A never-before-published short story by James Joyce based on a letter he once sent to his grandson, Stephen. Illustrated by Casey Sorrow and typeset by book artist Michael Caine. Just lovely. A complete tip of the hat to the superb Brain Pickings.
I was first introduced to Yang Lui's East Meets West by a colleague. It's a wonderful graphical representation of the differences between Eastern and Western mentality (Lui was born in China but spent much of her life in Germany). Today, on the excellent blog Brain Pickings, I saw Paris vs. New York by Vahram Muratyan, which is extremely similar in layout and idea, if not exactly the same, but it clearly works just as well.
